To the Editor:
The free Lockwood and San Lucas Community Drop-Off Event, recently provided by Waste Management and Monterey County, offered a huge bonus to our rural area.
Many services available in urban areas are not repeated rurally, largely because of higher costs and lower density. However, this effort stretched beyond those restrictions to access Lockwood and surrounding South Monterey County neighborhoods.
This collection, with no fees and easy travel, made a significant difference for us in both time and money saved.
Shout out to the San Antonio Union Elementary School District for letting us use their parking lot. We look forward to more events like this in the future.
