KING CITY ā€” Rotary Club of King City has announced the return of the Rabbit Run on Saturday, March 30, at 10 a.m. at the San Bernabe Visitors Center, 53001 Oasis Road, in King City.

The third annual fun run returns to San Bernabe (Delicato) Vineyards off Oasis Road and includes both a 5-kilometer (3.1 mile) course and a 1-mile course. While the 5K course includes a few rolling hills, the 1-mile course is flat and stroller friendly. The race is dog-friendly, for both courses, provided the canine companion stays on leash.

Following the run, wines from Delicato will be available to taste for participants 21 of age and older. The event proceeds will support the Rotary Club of King City Foundation scholarship program, which to date has awarded more than $130,000 in scholarships to graduates of King City High School.

ā€œThis marks our second year at the beautiful San Bernabe Vineyard,ā€ said TJ Plew-Hearne, race event director. ā€œThe spectacular views on the race course and post-event hospitality makes for a fun way to start the Easter holiday weekend in Southern Monterey County. King City Rotary looks forward to hosting this enjoyable family event each year.ā€

All racers will receive a sport style T-shirt, commemorative participation ribbon and invitation to the post-event festivities at the San Bernabe Visitors Center, including wine tasting for those 21 years of age and over, with their entry fees. Fees for adults are $40 for the 5K course and $30 for the 1-mile course. Youth fees are only $15 for either the 5K or 1-mile fun run.

Age-group winners by gender in the 5K will be recognized in an awards ceremony following the race.

In 2024, a new age group category, ā€œSilver Striders,ā€ will acknowledge the course achievements of those age 70 or older.

ā€œWe added the ā€˜Silver Striderā€™ group so that we can honor our most experienced participants,ā€ Plew-Hearne said.

Winners are awarded a seasonal easter ribbon rosette, and the first-place winners will receive carrot cakes.

Register for this yearā€™s event online at webscorer.com/RabbitRun. Participants are encouraged to register early by March 8 to be guaranteed an event T-shirt. Registration will also be available on the day of the event beginning at 8:30 a.m. at the San Bernabe Visitors Center.
