MONTEREY COUNTY ā€” Arts Council for Monterey County (Arts4MC) has awarded $109,000 in Arts and Cultural Impact Grants to 22 local arts organizations and nonprofit organizations with art programs, thanks to funding from the County of Monterey and its Board of Supervisors.Ā 

This is the first round of Arts and Cultural Impact Grants to be awarded this fiscal year, with the second round to be awarded in the spring.

ā€œI am happy to say that each organization that applied was awarded a grant,ā€ said Jacquie Atchison, executive director of Arts4MC. ā€œWe would love to see more organizations apply, particularly from groups who havenā€™t applied before.ā€

Recipients of the 2023 Fall Arts and Cultural Impact Grants are: Youth Music Monterey County, Whalefest Monterey, Meals on Wheels of the Salinas Valley Inc., Chamber Music Monterey Bay, Monterey Museum of Art, Carl Cherry Center for the Arts, York School, Monterey County Youth Museum, Henry Miller Memorial Library, Museum Foundation of Pacific Grove Inc., Palenke Arts, Arts Habitat, Monterey County Dance Foundation, Youth Arts Collective, Monterey County Pops!, Natividad Medical Foundation, United Way Monterey County, Monterey Peninsula College Foundation, Carmel Dance Festival, Carmel Bach Festival Inc., Carmel Classic Guitar Society and Urban Arts Collaborative (UAC).

Arts and Cultural Impact Grants are available to nonprofit organizations seeking support for public arts and culture projects or programs. The next funding cycle will be open in the spring, and more information can be found at the Arts Council for Monterey County website arts4mc.org/grants.
