MONTEREY COUNTY — Transportation Agency for Monterey County (TAMC) is accepting nominations for its 21st Annual Transportation Excellence Awards.
The award honors individuals, businesses, groups or programs and projects for their efforts to improve transportation in Monterey County.
Examples of potential awards include but are not limited to:
- Citizens or organizations that have made significant efforts to inform and educate the public about transportation issues;
- Innovative activities that promote more efficient use of the local transportation network;
- Successful efforts to improve transit services and encourage the use of smart commute alternatives to driving alone through the Go831 Smart Commute Program; and
- Transportation professionals who excel at their jobs and go the extra mile to improve our transportation system.
The one-page nomination form is due by noon on Dec. 2.
Nominations can be submitted online or downloaded and returned by mail to Transportation Agency for Monterey County, 55-B Plaza Circle, Salinas, CA 93901; or faxed to the attention of Theresa Wright at 831-775-0897.
The award honorees will be honored during the regular Transportation Agency board meeting on Jan. 25.
