JOLON — Fort Hunter Liggett recently hosted a Patriot Day Memorial Ceremony, honoring the memories of the souls lost on Sept. 11, 2001, and paying tribute to all the patriots and their families who have sacrificed their lives in defense of freedom.
King City Police Chief Keith Boyd and Mayor Mike LeBarre were among the guests during the Sept. 9 ceremony at the army installation, located near Jolon in South Monterey County.
Also in attendance were FHL leadership, including Garrison Commander Col. Lisa Lamb and Garrison Command Sgt. Maj. Eric Rupp, and other members of the military.
“Thank you to all of those who attended our Patriot Day commemoration,” FHL’s Morale, Welfare and Recreation posted on social media afterward. “We want to pay tribute today to first responders and military members who perished and to all those whom showed courage through 9/11. FHL Remembers.”
