KING CITY — Ongoing paving and bridge work on Highway 101 in King City will continue with the closure of the southbound Broadway Street onramp and the southbound Canal Street offramp starting in the early morning hours of Wednesday, July 13.
Temporary concrete railing will be placed along the roadway to block both the southbound Canal offramp and southbound Broadway onramp. Work will be performed on the ramps behind the railing, and detours will be in place.
Travelers who would otherwise exit southbound 101 at Canal will now exit the highway at Broadway Street and travel to River Drive before reaching Canal Street. Those wishing to access the southbound 101 onramp at Broadway will be directed to take Broadway to River Drive, where they will connect to the Canal onramp.
Caltrans said message and directional signs will be in place to direct travelers, who should expect delays of up to 10 minutes.
These southbound ramp closures will be in effect immediately following the opening of the southbound Canal Street onramp and southbound First Street offramp during overnight work on Tuesday, July 12.
The $78 million construction project is expected to be completed at the end of September 2022.
