KING CITY — King City Police Department responded to a medical aid on May 1 at about 9:28 a.m. for a man who had suffered a head injury after being struck in the face with a bottle the night before.

During the investigation into the incident that caused the injury, officers discovered that Marvin Hernandez‐Jimenez, 22, of King City had attended a party in the 100 block of Bassett Street in King City and had been attempting to dance with an 11‐year‐old female.

“It was determined after several verbal requests for the 11‐year‐old to dance with him were declined, Hernandez‐Jimenez grabbed the juvenile’s arm and clothing to include her bra while attempting to force her to dance with him,” police said in a news release.

After other partygoers separated the juvenile from Hernandez‐Jimenez, he then sat down next to Jose Martin Soto‐Martinez and proceeded to elbow him in his side even after being asked to stop and to leave the party.

Soto‐Martinez, 26, of King City then struck Hernandez‐Jimenez in the face above his left eye with his beer bottle, causing the injury.

Hernandez‐Jimenez was subsequently arrested on May 1 for annoying and molesting a child under 18. An emergency protective order was also obtained to prohibit future contact with the victim.

Soto‐Martinez later turned himself into KCPD on May 2, where he was arrested for assault with a deadly weapon other than a firearm.

“King City Police Department wants to remind the public to report these incidents to the police rather than taking maters into your own hands,” police said.
