JOB FAIR
MONTEREY COUNTY — Monterey County Workforce Development Board is hosting its last virtual job fair of 2021 on Wednesday, Nov. 17, from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. on the Premier Virtual online event platform. The event is free to both employers and job seekers, who are asked to register for the event in advance via https://pvapi.premiervirtual.com/s/jdnAR8. Since March 2021, MCWDB has hosted nine virtual job fairs with over 500 job seekers and 120 businesses in total participating. The platform enables job seekers to chat with employers, submit resumes and apply for positions during virtual events.

KING CITY — King City Chamber of Commerce and Agriculture is bringing back in-person luncheons, with the next get-together set for Thursday, Nov. 18, at 12 p.m. at King Kora Restaurant. BOOK TOUR
SALINAS VALLEY — Author Amy Wu has embarked on a tour to discuss her book, “From Farms to Incubators,” which takes a look at how women entrepreneurs are revolutionizing agriculture through high technology. In Monterey County, the discussion and book signing will take place locally on Nov. 18 at River Books in Carmel, from 11 a.m. to 12:15 p.m., and Salinas Public Library at 3 p.m.; Nov. 19 at DigitalNEST in Salinas, from 3 to 4 p.m., and Downtown Book and Sound in Salinas, from 6 to 7 p.m.; and Nov. 20 at Monterey County Agricultural and Rural Life Museum in King City, from 4 to 5 p.m., by invite only.
