KING CITY — Four men from King City were arrested Tuesday evening following another gang-related shooting that injured one resident.

According to King City Police Department, officers responded to the 500 block of Van Nort Street around 7:20 p.m. on July 18 regarding a gunshot victim. The man was shot once in his left forearm, and witnesses said the suspects took off in a gray Jeep SUV.

An officer en route to the scene spotted the vehicle in the alleyway near the 600 block of Oates Avenue and ultimately pulled it over for a high-risk traffic stop. The vehicle’s occupants, Gustavo Garcia, 21, Francisco Martinez, 18, Marco Velasquez, 18, and Heber Veronica, 19, all of King City, were detained.

Police searched the alley where the Jeep was first seen and found three semi-automatic handguns that appeared to have been thrown in nearby shrubs. All four suspects were arrested and taken to Monterey County Jail.

The investigation is continuing, police said.

This is the third shooting in King City in less than two weeks, following incidents on July 9 and July 11. No suspects have been apprehended in those cases.

Anyone with information about these crimes should call the King City Police Department at 831-385-4848.
