PG&E TOWN HALL

CENTRAL COAST — Pacific Gas and Electric Company (PG&E) invites South Bay and Central Coast customers to a virtual town hall to learn about reliability and safety work in their region, new wildfire safety efforts and expanded customer support programs. On Monday, Aug. 19, from 5:30 to 6:30 p.m., PG&E experts, including Regional Vice President Teresa Alvarado, will provide a brief presentation, during which participants will have the opportunity to ask questions. JOB EVENTS

SALINAS — Monterey County Works has a job fair and a specialized recruitment planned for the month of August at America’s Job Center, 344 Salinas St., Suites #205-206, in Salinas. On Wednesday, Aug. 21, a Multiple Employer Job Fair will take place from 1 to 4 p.m. at the Job Center. Then, on Wednesday, Aug. 28, an Industry Spotlight Specialized Recruitment (Finance) is set for 1 to 4 p.m. Register in advance for these in-person events at montereycountyworks.com.


PARK PASSES

MONTEREY COUNTY — August is American Adventure Month, and Monterey County Free Libraries is highlighting its State Park Passes while the program lasts. With a State Park Pass from a local library branch, residents can visit many of the State Parks for free. This program is funded through the California State Library and may expire at the end of the year. To further encourage outdoor adventures, MCFL also added five outdoor adventure packs and six disc golf kits to its collection. Residents can borrow an adventure pack with binoculars, hiking sticks, a compass and nature guides to take on their next hike. The disc golf kits contain frisbees, instructions on how to play disc golf and a list of disc golf locations in Monterey County.
