Salinas Valley Fair

KING CITY — Spring is here and it’s time for some fun — that’s what is in store at the Salinas Valley Fair’s annual Kickoff Dinner, Dance and Auction on Saturday, April 20, in the Orradre building.

“Our Fair theme this year is ‘Golden Hills & Fair Time Thrills’ and we are going to launch into fair time fun with our annual Fair Kickoff Dinner, Dance and Auction,” said Frank Lopez, Salinas Valley Fair Board president. “Enjoy a great meal, dance the night away and shop our amazing silent auction items.”

The kickoff party begins at 5:30 p.m. with a no-host bar by the King City Knights of Columbus, followed by a King City Young Farmers’ steak dinner at 7 p.m. The silent auction is from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m., and the live auction from 8 to 9 p.m. Then it will be time to dance, dance and dance some more to The Harper Canyon Band.

A big part of the fundraising effort for the evening is the live and silent auctions.

“We have an awesome list of silent and live auction items,” said Lopez, who is also the auction chairman, “and this year is no exception.”

With nearly 30 live auction items and more than 150 for the silent auction, there is a wide variety to entice just about everyone from trips, dinners, sporting event tickets and much more.

Tickets are available at the Salinas Valley Fair office in King City. For more information, call the fair office at 831-385-3243.

The 2024 Fair is May 16-19 with new and exciting entertainment this year. For information, visit the Fair’s website salinasvalleyfair.com.
