KING CITY — Hundreds of American flags were planted on the lawn at King City High School, which hosted 9/11 remembrance events last Friday for students and faculty.

According to Principal Michael Gray, there were 3,000 flags representing the victims of the terrorist attacks, in addition to a moment of silence and a heart-wrenching assembly.

On Saturday, the 20th anniversary of the attacks, King City police and fire departments presented a memorial procession through town, followed by a flag ceremony at the fire station to honor those who died.

Other first responders attending the service included Fort Hunter Liggett, South Monterey County Fire, Cal Fire, Greenfield Fire and Soledad Police.
