KING CITY — Monterey County Dance Theatre and Monterey County Dance Foundation recently announced the selection of 10-year-old Ella Guidotti as Clara in the 2023 production of “The Nutcracker Ballet.”
Guidotti began her dance journey with MCDT in 2016, when she was just over 3 years old. She is the daughter of Jeremy and Ginnie Guidotti and attends Soledad Mission School.
Also announced was 12-year-old Giavonna Rubbo as Fritz, Clara’s brother and antagonist. Rubbo, a seventh grader from Soledad, began dancing in 2015. She is a second-generation dancer with MCDT, following in her mother Crystal’s footsteps.
Other cast members will be announced at a later date.
The 64th anniversary of “The Nutcrack Ballet” is set for Dec. 8-10 at the Robert Stanton Theater in King City.
