KING CITY — To conclude the fall season, King City High School recently hosted an awards ceremony to honor some of its hardworking Mustang student-athletes.

In football, Mustang varsity players receiving awards were Isaac Benavides, Defensive Player of the Year; Noah Pacheco, Francisco Sandoval Lineman of the Year; Adrian Garcia, Offensive Player of the Year; and Jjey Martinez, Most Valuable Player and Mustang Award.

In addition, Benavides, Pacheco, Garcia and Martinez earned first team All-League honors alongside teammate Raul Garcia, who also made the second team.

Other second team All-League players were Adan Garcia-Loa, Branden Villasenor and Max Morales. Jace Espino was named to the Richard Chamberlin All-Sportsmanship Team.

In volleyball, Mustang varsity award winners were Julia Mendez, Offensive Player; Sage Flores, Most Valuable Player; Janesa Lopez, Offensive Coordinator; Amity Hearne, Top Server; Lexanna Novoa, Most Improved Player; and Samantha Roach, Scholar Athlete.

In addition, Mendez and Flores made the first team All-League, while Lopez and Hearne earned second team All-League honors. Lisa Villanueva was named to the Richard Chamberlin All-Sportsmanship Team.

Flores was also selected as the Mission Division Most Valuable Player.
