KING CITY — Incumbent Robert Cullen has won re-election to his District 5 seat on the King City Council, defeating challenger Jonas Lalehzadeh in the Nov. 5 Presidential General Election.

Cullen, a local small business owner, received 150 votes, representing 64.38% of the vote, while Lalehzadeh, a farmer and first-time candidate, garnered 83 votes, or 35.62%, in the latest election results.

Cullen has served as a council member for the past 16 years, including six years as mayor of King City.

“During this time, our community has seen significant progress in areas such as public safety, downtown improvements, recreation programs and more,” according to Cullen’s candidate statement. “Your City Council has worked tirelessly, and I am eager to continue serving the residents of King City for the next four years.”

Also up for election on the City Council were incumbents Carlos DeLeon and Carlos Victoria, both of whom ran unopposed in their respective Districts 3 and 4.

Rounding out the five-member council are Mayor Mike LeBarre and Council Member Oscar Avalos.
