KING CITY — A determined King City High flag football team recovered from a rough time in the Gabilan Division and won four straight division games last week to improve to 7-3 within the league and 15-5 overall.

King City defeated the Alisal Trojans, 27-12; the Rancho San Juan Trailblazers, 44-0; the Soledad Aztecs, 38-6; and completed the week with a 26-12 victory against Aptos.

Katia Slama threw for 15 touchdowns with no interceptions, and Yesenia Rodriguez scored four touchdowns and had four interceptions. Dania Rodriguez had four touchdowns and a pick six, and Jacqueline Gonzalez was praised for her offensive and defensive hustle.

In games this week, King City hosted Salinas High on Monday (after press deadlines) and will travel to Monterey on Wednesday to play the Monterey High Toreadores.
