KING CITY ā€” Community Food Pantry of King City is again partnering with Goodwill Industries for another collection drive in April.

The Food Pantry is asking local residents to bring new or gently used items, such as clothing, shoes, books, blankets, linens, curtains, dishes, kitchenware, bikes, DVDs, small kitchen appliances and all other general household items, to the Goodwill donation trailer.

Items that will not be accepted include any furniture, beds, mattresses, exercise equipment, large appliances or baby items, such as strollers or car seats.

The event has moved this year, and the trailer will be in the lot directly across the street from King City High Schoolā€™s Broadway parking lot. It will be there for two days from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m., Saturday and Sunday, April 6-7.

The donation drives are an important fundraising event for the Food Pantry, and pantry volunteers are grateful for the communityā€™s support. For every trailer filled, Goodwill will donate $1,000 to the Food Pantry, which goes directly to funding its food distribution program.

ā€œThis is a great time to start spring cleaning and clearing out those still useful, unwanted items while benefiting your local food pantry,ā€ said Peggy Keirn, the event organizer. ā€œAll funds raised stay in King City to assist our residents in need.ā€
