Robert (Bob) Lynn King Jr. passed away at the age of 72 on April 30, 2018. He passed away after having complications from a heart transplant that he received almost 13 years ago.
We are very thankful to have our Dad, Grandfather, and Great Grandfather for so many more years. We are also so thankful to that family who wanted their son to live on by donating his heart so our dad could be with his family a little longer. Bob was a resident and owned a local electrical company in King City for over 40 years. He was the local go to guy for many of our local contractors. He has donated much of his time and resources giving back to his community.
Helping with the fountain in the Broadway Circle, the concession stand at our own High School Football Field, and some of you may remember way back when we had a bowling alley at the end of town. He was one of the ones who helped make that into a local teen center with roller skating rink and other things to help local teens have a local hang out, just to name a few.
You could always find him taking pictures at his grandkids Baseball, Football, Golf, Track, and Rodeo events. And recently working with kids at the King City Golf course and our local schools with the First Tee program so kids could learn the skills and fun of his favorite sport…Golf. He always felt that every kid should have a chance to learn something new and have a safe place to do it.
Bob is survived by his 3 daughters, Denise Zanetta, Christie Ibarra, and Brandi Johnson Cook. 7 Grand Children, Ryan, Heather, Jared, Jacob, Mark, Justine, and Kodi . And 4 Great Grandchildren, Kailynn, Brock, Natalie, and Nora.
Some of his hobbies included going to an amusement park and going on the biggest, scariest roller coasters, playing cards with family and friends, billards, racing, such as soap box cars when he was little all the way up to open wheel race cars at Laguna Seca. If it had a steering wheel and four tires, he was racing it, and of course golf.
The family will be having a small get together to celebrate his life at the King City Golf course in the BBQ area on June 9, 2018 at 2:00pm. The family is asking in lieu of cards and flowers to make a donation to the First Tee Program under the Coach Bob Scholarship to help kids go to summer golf camp.
