MONTEREY COUNTY — The County of Monterey Housing and Community Development Department is requesting the Board of Supervisors to continue the Board Workshop on the “Draft Housing Element 6th Cycle” update until June 11.

This request aims to extend the public comment period on the Draft Housing Element and to allow the Monterey County Planning Commission to provide a recommendation to the Board of Supervisors.

The Monterey County Planning Commission held a special hearing on this matter on June 5. In addition, the public is encouraged to attend and provide their comments at the subsequent Board of Supervisors workshop on Tuesday, June 11, at 1:30 p.m. in the County of Monterey Board Chambers located at 168 W. Alisal St. in Salinas.

“The extension of the public comment period and the additional hearing are designed to ensure comprehensive community engagement and feedback on the Draft Housing Element,” stated the County in a news release. “Community members are strongly encouraged to participate in these important discussions about the future of housing in Monterey County.”
