TRAFFIC REMINDER

GONZALES — City of Gonzales is reminding residents to pay attention to the Public Works employees directing traffic each weekday morning on the Fifth Street Bridge. Lately, the employees have experienced motorists who are not respecting their traffic control and have created dangerous situations for them. “The safety of our Public Works employees comes first,” the City stated Dec. 15. “If this bad behavior by a few residents continues, we will pause the program.”


CHRISTMAS DINNERS

GREENFIELD — City of Greenfield will distribute 300 pozole kits to Greenfield residents and families on Tuesday, Dec. 21, at 9 a.m. at the Memorial Hall, just in time for the Christmas holiday. The free kits include all the ingredients needed to make pozole, a traditional Mexican stew. Greenfield Memorial Hall is located at 615 El Camino Real.


FOOD DISTRIBUTION

SOLEDAD — Soledad Police Department is having a free food distribution on Wednesday, Dec. 22, for up to 400 families. The distribution, from 1 to 5 p.m., will take place at Soledad High School, 425 Gabilan Drive, and is available for Soledad residents on a first-come, first-served basis, while supplies last. SOLEDAD — Soledad Police Department, in partnership with The Salvation Army, is hosting a coat drive on Wednesday, Dec. 22. From 1 to 5 p.m., donations of unwanted coats may be dropped off at Soledad High School, 425 Gabilan Drive. For more information, call 831-223-5161.
