BETHLEHEM EXPERIENCE

KING CITY — Everyone is invited to a “Bethlehem Experience” on Saturday, Dec. 18, from 2 to 5 p.m. at the Casey Redtail Ranch Barn, 53060 Pine Canyon Road, in King City. Sponsored by Grace Lutheran Church and Sol Treasures Art Center, the free event will feature merchant stalls, refreshments, games, animals and children’s nativity scene and choir.


BREAK CAMPS

SALINAS — Central Coast YMCA will host school break camps in December and January for youth during the winter holidays. Break camps will be held from 7:30 a.m. to 6 p.m. Monday through Thursday, Dec. 20-23, Dec. 27-30 and Jan. 3-6, at the Salinas YMCA, 117 Clay St. Led by trained YMCA staff, break camps will provide youth with fun and inspiring activities that will help them build self-confidence, self-esteem and independence. DOCTORS HONORED

KING CITY — Mee Memorial Healthcare System recently honored two doctors with special awards. Dr. Joshua Deutch has been named Physician of the Year, and Dr. Jorge Feria earned the Mentorship of the Year award. Outside his work as a family physician at Mee Memorial, Deutsch has authored 10 children’s books created for free distribution in farmworker communities. Deutsch formed the nonprofit Justice with Health to manage the book program and other planned initiatives. A pediatrics specialist and avid rock climber, Feria takes a personal interest in education and curriculum development.
