To the Editor:

I just want to sing the praises of the young people that live in the King City community and its surrounding areas.

My family and I attend and volunteer to help at many activities in King City. The most recent was the Wreaths Across America project at the King City Cemetery. I canā€™t forget the beautiful production of ā€œThe Nutcrackerā€ and the VFW Veterans Day BBQ.

My point is, without the help of the high school kids, the 4-Hers and the Boy and Girl Scouts and FFA, we older folks would be hard-pressed to complete all of these events.

Of course, there are many adults who are working hard at all the events, but time after time itā€™s the kids who are there to help us out. Yes, they are earning community service points, but they do the work with no grumbling and for the most part happily do what ever is asked of them.

Congratulations and thanks to all the parents, teachers and leaders who help instill the importance of community service and activity in our young people. To them and the young people ā€” job well done!
