KING CITY — A construction project to rehabilitate the Highway 101 mainline and ramps and to perform a seismic retrofit and widening on the Salinas River Bridge near King City continues, with an upcoming closure.

Starting Monday, Nov. 28, travelers will encounter a closure of the southbound 101 offramp at Broadway Street. This closure is expected to be in place through Dec. 30, and a detour will be available.

Travelers on southbound 101 will be directed to continue past Broadway and take the Canal Street exit, and then make a left on Canal Street to reach Broadway.

Message and directional signs will be in place to direct travelers, who can expect delays of up to 10 minutes.

In addition, the Highway 101 northbound onramps and offramps at Jolon Road were reopened to travelers on Nov. 17.

The $78 million construction project is expected to be completed at the beginning of 2023.
