Luther Bert Langford, 72, of San Lucas has lost his battle to a year long illness on September 28, 2018.

Luther grew up and went to school in Watsonville. Upon graduation, he joined the Navy where he was selected to be in an elite crew to pick up early manned space craft when they returned home 1964-1967.

While in Santa Barbara, he found his one true passion – to work on wood boats, actually anything wood. He was so talented that he worked for the likes Ray Crock (founder of McDonalds) and Walter Lantz (Cartoonist of Woody Woodpecker).

He came to Southern Monterey County to work on new housing in Pine Canyon and stayed in the area ever since.

For the past 25 years he has worked for Kenneth Eade at his home and ranch. And he worked for Chris Madsen also on his home and construction business.

He leaves behind his best friend and love of his life of 25 years, Cathy Hill, also of San Lucas. He has a sister Regina Thompson and brother George Langford; two sons, Justin and Anthony, and many friends.

No services at this time but if you would like to donate to the Oncology Department of the Salinas Valley Memorial Hospital in his name, please do.

He will be forever missed by many!
