LOCKWOOD Around 4 p.m. on Friday, June 16, CAL FIRE received a call for a vegetation fire near the intersection of Jolon Road and Chadwick Lane, near Lockwood. CAL FIRE responded with assistance from South Monterey County Fire Protection District.

Firefighters found about 10 acres of oak woodland burning upon arrival. The high heat and low humidity have helped spread the fire. The fire was contained at 6:15 p.m. at about 32 acres.

There were no injuries reported, but one outbuilding and one structure were damaged. 

The cause of the fire is under investigation.
